I like how they captured the lighting when the other fellow photographer rode a tricycle around the swimming pool wearing a head light. It didn't say who took it.

Parade, July 3, 2011: "Grill, Baby, Grill"
(Photograph by Stephanie Rausser)Stand back! When America's gutsiest grillmeister, Guy Fieri, broke out a blow-torch to blast a hunk of meat on this cover, he lived out the dreams of every backyard pit boss we know. And to ensure that readers' meals lived up to their fire-stoked fantasies, PARADE presented a Summer Eating Guide inside that was packed with enough grilling tips, techniques, and recipes to satisfy the hungriest hordes.

Well I think there photo is a bit dark. I believe it should be a slight bit lighter for the pack ground for him to pop out more. And they could have made the Fire look more realistic.  They also could have made the wording a different color made the colors more vivid instead of drowning the background all together like they did. But in the upper hand I love the way Guy is standing its a wonderful pose. The fire and steak was a marvelous idea it catches the eyes which makes people buy it. Which will help with selling the product. Its was well catches the essence of what Guy's job is all about being a National Famous chef.

5 things

1! It glows in vivid colors that will inevitably turn disappointingly dull when printed in ink. A hard-copy printout may be closer.

2!  If the cover pops out from its background, don’t weaken it by fussing with it.

3! Check out the suggestions about the four type sizes.  A magazine is first and foremost a physical product, so experiment with it as such and be sure to make the most of its capabilities.

4! Worst of all, it is virtual. It is just an illusory likeness of the physical paper product that your potential buyer will ultimately be holding. If you are producing magazines on paper, think and remain conscious of “paperness” all the time.

5! Never trim a printout, mount it beautifully, and display it with its alternates on the finely polished surface of the conference-room table.
